Professional Background

Naomi earned her BA in International Studies at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She was an NCAA Academic All-American in Varsity Fencing and co-founded the global topics debate team. During college, she was an intern in Political Strategy for the Social Democratic Party of Germany, where she served as an aide to the Head of Foreign Policy.

Upon graduation, Naomi joined Deloitte’s highly regarded Business Analyst program and was quickly promoted to Manager. She subsequently decided to pursue her MBA to combine her two professional passions, technology and healthcare, at Stanford. Naomi went from Stanford to McKinsey, where she helped build the west coast presence for Healthcare within the Business Technology Office as an Engagement Manager.

The start of Naomi’s entrepreneurial career in digital health came when she decided to leave McKinsey and join Castlight’s founding team. As employee #3, she helped build the company from the earliest days to IPO. She held almost all the possible roles and responsibilities in the business side (non-engineering) over her 8 year tenure.

In the early Castlight years, she was responsible for determining the business idea and business model: she defined Castlight as a health transparency enterprise business. She built and negotiated the first contracts with payors to obtain unique data assets. She pitched and landed the first 4 customers. She also led all the internal company G&A functions. In her second phase at Castlight, she led the commercial functions including the Call Center, Professional Services, and Sales team. She built the sales team to 60 people spanning 3 regions, sales operations, lead generation, mid-market, and sales training. In her third phase, Naomi led Product and Strategic Alliances. She was highly involved in the roadshow and IPO process.

After 8 years at Castlight including 2 years post-IPO, Naomi took a sabbatical on a round-the-world trip to 24 countries across 6 continents, with 3 kids under the age of three and her spouse. She simultaneously developed a business plan and boot-strapped an MVP product for an innovative digital health couples' therapy mental health company. She took the company to enrolling beta clients and early stage funding before pausing the company to work for Livongo.

At Livongo, Naomi was initially a Strategic Advisor then became the Chief Growth Officer. She oversaw key strategic growth initiatives for the company, including new markets and acquisition operations. She supported Livongo's category development and launch (Applied Health Signals), IPO preparation, acquisition of behavioral company MyStrength, launch of Livongo's largest strategic customer, and additional confidential new inorganic initiatives.

Following Livongo’s IPO, Naomi become Brightline’s founding CEO. Starting in 2019, Brightline has demonstrated that high quality, affordable, in-network virtual mental health is an option for families and kids. Brightline has been adopted by over 500 employers spanning 7 health plans and over 5 million lives. Under the brand name BrightLife Kids, Brightline's innovative Connect, Coaching and Care Guide solution is now also available to over 6 million kids on a grant funded by the California Department of Health Services for free for all families.
