Naomi Allen’s Biography

Naomi is an entrepreneur with 20 years of hands-on experience developing high growth health tech companies. She is currently Co-Founder and CEO at Brightline, the world’s first technology-enabled Behavioral Health Home for children and their families.

Outside of her role at Brightline, Naomi is an advisor to startups, a world traveler, and Mom to 3 amazing kids. She is a Board member at Bright Health and a frequent speaker on health tech, behavioral health, and entrepreneurship.

Early Life and Career

Naomi was born and raised in Albany, Georgia, a small community in the southeastern United States. In her childhood, her family was active in medical mission work in Trivandrum, India. Naomi supported year-long efforts raising funds and materials that her parents and a team of doctors and nurses delivered to Trivandrum each summer. From an early age she saw first hand how much access to high quality medicine can change lives.

After earning her BA at UNC-Chapel Hill, Naomi worked for 4 years in heathcare and technology at Deloitte Consulting. She then pursued her MBA at Stanford Graduate School of Business in order to bring those professional passions together, because she saw the potential for utilizing technology to deliver better health outcomes. After business school, Naomi spent 4 years at McKinsey working at the intersection of healthcare, non-profits, and technology.

Wanting to get closer to hands-on impact, Naomi then took a sabbatical for 1 year to volunteer at the mission in India where her parents had worked, and in Bolivia with Habitat for Humanity where she raised funds for and led the construction of a neighborhood of 16 homes.

Naomi left McKinsey in 2008 to become one of the first pioneers in the emerging field of digital health, tranforming how healthcare is delivered through innovative uses of technology. She went on to become a founder and executive at landmark digital health companies including Castlight, Livongo, and Brightline. She successfully helped grow Castlight and Livongo to IPO, holding multiple key executive growth roles.

As Co-Founder and CEO of Brightline, Naomi is focused every day on demonstrating that high quality, affordable, in-network virtual mental health is an option for families and kids nationwide. Her greatest joy in her role at Brightline is knowing that millions of kids have access to mental health services that can truly transform their lives.
